Supplying Artwork< Back

Q. How do I supply the text?

A. When converting your artwork to a print ready PDF Adobe Acrobat Professional will embed the fonts when saving as ‘print ready’, but it is advisable to convert the text used to paths/curves/outlines (depending on the programme you are using) to remove any font related errors when transferring the file. If any unusual fonts have been used it is advisable to send this with the artwork.

Q. Are there any specific layouts required?

A. Please supply your artwork as one up. This includes the cover and centre spreads of booklets, brochures etc where the image or text spans the width of both pages. Ensure that the bleed is maintained for each page. Clearly identify the page order. If in any doubt please give us a call where we will be happy to assist.

Q. What are the specific measurements for the pages on folded leaflets?

A. Folds are usually made straight down the middle of the page. If you have a particular/alternative fold you require, simply call 01206 266733 and we can talk you through the page set up.

Q. Will you supply a proof before printing?

A. Our service does not include proofs.

We recognise, however, that in some circumstances proofs are
desirable and we can produce proofs from your Digital Artwork for you to check prior to printing. There are three types of proof we can send you at a small cost.

  • PDF Proof
PDF proofs are sent digitally via email. They are ideal for checking layout and content but are not colour accurate and so are of little use when there are issues of colour, such as matching to a corporate colour. PDF proofs will be sent at no extra cost when we design for you.
  • Laser Proof
Laser Proofs are sent by post and provide something tangible to look at. Again, these are not colour accurate and their use is limited to content and layout proofing. Prices start from £10 + VAT.
  • Wet Proof
Wet proofs are the very best match to the finished job since they are a small run of the finished job on press. We would always recommend a small run of print (to be used as a wet proof) prior to any very large run of print otherwise these can be costly. Contact us for estimate.
